Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Word on your computer. Select "File" from the menu and then choose "New." A new screen will come up. From that screen you want to choose "Templates." If your computer has "Invitations," choose that. If not, choose "Birthday cards."

2. Choose one of the layouts available. If you don't like the graphics on the layout, just click on it and press your delete button. You can click on the clip art icon and add a new graphic. You could also upload a picture of the birthday girl and add that to your invitation. Whatever you choose, you should have the graphic on the front cover of the invitation.

3. Type the name of the person who is having the birthday on the inside of the invitation. The page on the right side is generally where you put this information. Under the name, write the date and time of the party. Underneath of that, include the party address and an RSVP number.

4. Write any additional messages you have on the left side of the inside of the card. You may want to have a little birthday quote or a poem about the birthday girl. You can make it whatever font or color you desire.

5. Go to "File" and choose "Print" from the drop-down menu. Change the number of copies from 1 to the number of guests you are inviting. Then click "Print" again.
