Make Our Church Bingo More Fun

Avoid monotone, boring bingo callers to make your game more fun.

Many people enjoy playing bingo. It is simple to set up and requires little capital or gear to begin. Bingo is an excellent fund raiser for churches, although traditional bingo is not always exciting. Making bingo more fun for all participants, young and old, is accomplished in a church setting without compromising any religious values.

Instructions

1. Provide brightly colored bingo cards for all the players. Instead of using the traditional B-I-N-G-O on the board, use religious symbols and words, such as J-E-S-U-S or C-H-R-I-S-T.

2. Offer the smaller children in the congregation activities to play while their parents and older siblings are playing the game. Providing a distraction for the younger members of the group will help the parents and other players an opportunity to enjoy themselves.

3. Choose a dynamic, exuberant caller for the game. Mix it up by using two callers, or one caller who will make the game his own. Ask the caller to tell appropriate jokes and have fun with the players during the game.

4. Instruct the game's winner to have fun when they reach bingo. Instead of calling out the word, instruct players to jump up and down or do a funny dance when they win. This will keep the game fun for the rest of the crowd as well as the winner.

5. Decorate the bingo hall with different themes each night that bingo is held. For instance, one night fill the bingo hall with fake palm trees, sand, and beach balls for a tropical night. Put out bales of hay, stuffed cows, and wooden fences for a barnyard theme.

6. Offer the players treats during the game. Set out foods that fit into the bingo theme. For instance, make cookies in the shapes of BINGO or set out foods that start with any of the letters. For instance, a tray of broccoli and dip, ice cream, nectarines, grapes, and oranges will offer the players something fun to eat while playing the game.
