Make Ice Cream Without Owning An Ice Cream Maker

It's simple to make ice cream without an ice cream maker

Americans indulge themselves by eating more than $16.3 billion worth of ice cream each year. If you love ice cream, it's worth your while to create your own your own homemade ice cream -- without owning an ice cream maker. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Find an ice cream recipe you like, either online, at the library, or from a friend. Any ice cream recipe will work. Prepare your ice cream mixture, and be sure to follow the recipe closely.

2. Put your ice cream mixture into the large mixing bowl, and place it into your fridge for two hours, checking it after one hour.

3. Take the mixture out of your fridge and put it in your freezer for 30 minutes. Check your mixture again after 30 minutes. The mixture should be starting to freeze around the outer edges, but not fully through to the middle. If there's no sign of freezing around the edges, put it back in the freezer for 20-minute increments until it has frozen edges.

4. Take the mixture out of the freezer after the edges have frozen and beat it well with a whisk to mix it back into a creamy texture. Then, put it back into the freezer for another 30 minutes. Whisk it again, and repeat this process of freezing for 30 minutes and whisking until the ice cream is to your desired consistency.
