Get Started

1. Utilize a square piece of multicolored origami paper, or any paper you wish to use, in creating the umbrellas.

2. Take the soup can and trace around the bottom of the can, making a round circle on the paper. Mark a pie-shaped section, about 1/8 inch. Cut the circle from paper using scissors; pinking shears or scissors with fun scalloped edging can be used. Use straight scissors and cut out the pie shape

3. Bring edges together, where you've cut out the pie shape, to form a cone. Slightly overlap the edges and, using craft glue, secure together. Allow to dry. You should have an umbrella shaped piece.

4. Place a drop of craft glue on the inside in the tip of the umbrella after the top has dried. Place pointed end of skewer into center tip, slightly piercing the paper. Allow to dry before using.
