1. Business cards are a perfect tool for creating Christmas name tags.

Place an old business card on the white side of a piece of wrapping paper. Trace the outline of the card on the paper. Cut the traced shape out of the paper. Tape or glue the white side of the paper over the business name on the card.

Write the gift recipient's name on the back side of the tag using a red or green pen. Punch a hole in the top of the card, and thread a ribbon through the hole. Tie the ribbon in a bow and attach to the gift bag or package with a piece of tape.

2. Christmas cookie cutters are perfect for tracing different shapes onto paper.

Trace a Christmas cookie cutter on a piece of craft or construction paper. Cut out the outline. Color with markers or crayons if desired. Write the gift recipient's name on the on the tag and tape to the gift.

3. Cut out different styles and colors of letters from old magazines. Place the letters on the wrapped package. This technique works best with solid color wrapping paper so the letters will stand out. Confirm you have enough letters to spell out the recipient's name. Add more letters if needed. Rub the back side of each letter over the top of a glue stick and attach to the package.

4. Scissors are an important tool when creating Christmas name tags.

Trace your child's hand on a piece of construction paper, or on the white side of excess wrapping paper. Cut the outline of the hand out and write the recipient's name in the middle. Punch a hole in the base of the hand shape. Thread a ribbon through the hole, and tie in a bow. Confirm the string is long enough to be used as a Christmas tree ornament after the gift has been opened.

Place a small piece of tape at the top of the ribbon to attach the name tag to the gift.

5. Outline the name of the gift recipient on a piece of paper using a glue stick. Sprinkle glitter, confetti or tiny squares of cut up construction paper over the letters. Let dry and cut into the desired shape. Attach the name tag to the gift using tape on the back side of the name tag.
