Promote your next gospel event with a well-designed flyer.
Gospel music concerts and workshops are exciting events that many people are interested in attending. These events are held every year throughout the United States. If you are involved in planning an upcoming gospel music concert or seminar at your college, church or community center, flyers are a great way to promote the event and provide information people need to make plans to attend. Gather all the information you need, and use a basic word processing program to design your flyer, then take it to your local print shop. Then, pin them up on bulletin boards and community centers around town.
Instructions
1. Gather the information that guests will need to attend your gospel event. Include the dates and times, as well as the name of the event and where it is being held. If choir groups, gospel groups or individual artists are performing, include the proper spelling of their name and a photo on your flyer. Gather ticket price information and a website address, phone number or physical address that guests can use to buy tickets to the event.
2. Open a new word processing document on your computer and save it to a place on your computer where you can easily access it. Decide whether you want your flyer to run in the standard vertical 8.5 x 10-inch format, or if you want to lay it out in landscape form. If you aren't sure how you want to lay it out, look at your photos of the performers and lay them on a piece of paper to determine the most appealing presentation.
3. Scan your photos, if necessary, so that you can insert them into your flyer document as digital images. Create three or four text boxes in your document so that you can manipulate text and move it around on the page with ease. Type the title, date and location of the event in the first box and size it to fit your page. Type a short yet informative description of the event including performers in the second box and size the box to fit the content. Type ticketing information into the third text box. Include contact information such as phone number and a website where guests may purchase tickets.
4. Review your flyer for grammar and spelling, and make sure you've not left out any critical information. If your event is outside and you have a backup spot in case of rain, check to see that you included that location, as well. Print a sample of your flyer and give it to someone who knows nothing about the event, and ask them if there's any information missing that they'd need to attend. Make any necessary changes, print the number of copies you need, then distribute and post them around your community.
