Hawaii in July is busy and hot, but also stunning and fun.
The best time to travel to Hawaii is, well, almost any time. The weather in Hawaii remains fairly consistent throughout the year; however, June and July tend to be busier seasons for visitors. If you plan on visiting one of the Hawaiian islands in July, it's important to plan well ahead. With a little foresight and attention, your visit to Hawaii will be a memorable one.
Instructions
1. Decide which day you need to arrive and where. Hawaii has several airports, including the main airport in Honolulu, and on Maui and the Big Island.
2. Book your airline ticket well in advance. June and July are busy seasons for visiting Hawaii, which means higher prices and less availability. Booking your flight early -- at least three months ahead -- maximizes your chance of getting a lower fare.
3. Book your accommodations in advance. Just like airfare, accommodations throughout Hawaii in June and July are more expensive and harder to get. Booking them as soon as you have your airfare confirmed is the best way to ensure that you'll have a place to stay.
4. Prepare for the heat. While Hawaiian temperatures remain fairly consistent throughout the year, they do rise in the summer, and can sometimes spike. It is not unusual to see temperatures in the 90s. When coupled with humidity, this can be uncomfortable for some. In some cases -- though it is rare -- hurricanes can occur in these conditions.
5. Plan your activities. Hawaii offers an array of activities including swimming, hiking, surfing, golf, spa treatments, and local cultural activities. Take some time to plan several activities, both outdoors -- for the sun and beautiful weather -- and indoors -- to recover from the heat and the sun.
