Throw A Father'S Day Barbeque

Celebrate dad with a memorable Father's Day barbeque

Celebrating Father's Day is just as important as any other observance people commemorate. While the ways people honor their dads are sometimes less elaborate than Mother's Day gatherings, some men derive a lot of pleasure from a thoughtful and well-planned celebration of their fatherhood. If you're thinking of hosting a Father's Day cookout, consider certain options as you make preparations.

Instructions

1. Organize a joint celebration for multiple fathers. Don't plan a cookout that will be poorly attended because other people are with their fathers. If there are two or three dads in the family, plan a joint party. Include a close family friend who is a father but don't try to honor more than about four dads at once or it could lose individual significance for a particular participant. Coordinate with each family to ensure that each father is appropriately acknowledged.

2. Let the fathers rest; completely absolve them of any planning or preparation. Learn their favorite types and cuts of meat and sides and plan a menu accordingly. If the honorees are the typical pit masters in the family, study their grill technique and do it yourself without asking asking guests of honor to assist.

3. Decorate the area with pictures of the fathers posing with individual guests attending. You can also photograph each guest in attendance with the guests of honor so that everyone has an individual photo.

4. Play dad's favorite music in the background. Create a playlist on an MP3 player, burn special CDs or hire a DJ for larger celebrations.

5. Take turns with everyone making brief speeches about a special moment they've shared with the celebrated dads of the day.
