Word A 21st Birthday Party Invitation

The 21st birthday is an important milestone, since it's the age at which a young person is considered an independent and self-sufficient adult. Many choose to celebrate this event with a party and need to send out invitations. The wording for the invitation can be formal or informal; the tone depends on several factors, such as the type of party the host is planning and the location for the event. In all cases, the wording should be brief and contain only key details about the party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Announce the event to let the recipient know the purpose of the invitation. For example, the first phrase can be "Jane is turning 21!" or "Dave's 21st Birthday!"

2. Include a phrase to invite the guest to the event. Such as "Please join us to celebrate this milestone" or "We're having a party and hope you'll be there!"

3. Give the date, place and time of the event. For instance:

August 12 at 7:00pm

The Red Lounge

123 Imperial Highway

Los Angeles, CA

4. Include an RSVP telephone number, if necessary, for friends to inform the host whether or not they're attending. This is particularly important if the number of guests in attendance will affect aspects of planning the event, such as the amount of food to provide or mementos to prepare. The RSVP line can say: "If you can attend, please RSVP to Janet Smith at (310) 555-1212 by August 21" or "RSVP: David (562) 555-1212."

5. Provide additional details, if necessary. For instance, "Formal attire " or "Open bar." The additional information can appear above or below the RSVP.

6. Review the invitation wording and length. The final wording for the invitation could be:

Sarah is turning the big 2-1!

Please join us to celebrate this milestone.
