Instructions
1. Pick out some card stock at the local paper supply store. On the front, write something simple like, "You're Invited." This should be done by someone with terrific handwriting. Also, the phrase should be centered on the front of the card.
2. Open the card and list four items down the left side of the page, each followed by a colon. The listed items should include What, When, Where and RSVP. Also, make sure to leave a space at the bottom of the invitation for additional notes.
3. Fill in the space beside "What." Here you should indicate that there will be a wedding shower. You should also let all the guests known who the shower will be thrown for. Make sure to add a last name and even write, "fiancee of so and so" for guests that might only know the groom.
4. Fill in the space beside "When" and "Where." This is the real meat of the invitation. Spell out the month, but use numerals for the day. Make sure you use A.M. or P.M. when you designate a time.
5. Put RSVP information on the wedding invitation. This space is reserved for contact information of the shower planners. Here you should give as many phone numbers and email addresses as there are people planning. You should also give guests a deadline for an RSVP.
6. Give guests additional information about the shower and write this in the space at the bottom of the invitation. For example, most guests want to know if a full meal will be served or if it will just be appetizers and cake. This is also a place to write down where the bride and groom are registered for gifts.
