If your theme is ribbons and bows, you may want to print out invitations on correlating paper.
Some people create their baby shower invitations on the computer and print them out on card stock or special paper. Others purchase invitations which are already made and fill them out by hand. Either way, the wording and design of your invitations will inform guests on whether they will be attending a formal or casual affair. Invitations should be mailed at least one month prior to the shower, so guests have adequate time to make arrangements. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Include the basics information: name of mother-to-be and/or baby, date, time, location, and RSVP information.
2. Use elegant invitations for formal showers rather than ones with bright or loud colors. Showers that include a sit-down meal require a formal invitation. Address the mother-to-be as Ms. or Mrs. in the invitation wording.
3. Be creative with informal or novelty invitations. Invitations and wording can be casual and fun. Include a witty poem or limerick.
4. Address invitations to both men and women if the baby shower will be co-ed. Refrain from using invitations which are too feminine for co-ed parties.
