Throw a Tropical Bridal Shower
A tropical wedding shower is a great shower theme, especially if the bride and groom are planning to honeymoon on a tropical island.The theme could carry from the shower to the wedding with decorations, food, drinks and some tropical props that your guests will enjoy. You can even let the guests know about the tropical theme and ask if they would dress in their island best such as large print, brightly colored flowered shirts and blouses.
Instructions
1. Decorate the wedding shower location with tropical items. Any well-stocked party store will have what you need to do this, such as stand up card board palm trees, Tiki torches and island grass garland and partitions.
2. Serve tropical food and drinks such as roast pork, pineapples, coconuts, mangoes, any kind of fish and tropical drinks with fruit juices and colorful umbrellas and straws.
3. Hand out some flowered leis for the guests to wear. Party stores will also have other props for the guests to wear and have fun with. Use sunglasses, straw hats and grass skirts to use as party favors. Also alert the guests of the theme prior to the shower and encourage them to dress accordingly. Gifts can even be wrapped with island paper and silk orchids for bows.
4. Make tropical centerpieces out of silk orchids and other tropical looking flowers such as bird of paradise, fuschia and snap dragons. Set the flowers into large seashells in the center of each table.
5. Use small seashells for party favors and decorating the table where the gifts and shower cake will be placed. Order a shower cake with orchids or seashell decorations.
