Hula Hoop Office Games

Break up the monotony of office work with fun games.

If you are looking to add some fun to your next office meeting or party, use hula hoops to get your employees on their feet and having a great time. Hula hoops are available at many retail and toy stores. These inexpensive hoops will have the employees bonding, laughing and enjoy themselves after a hard day at work. Entice your employees to play along by awarding small prizes to the game winners.

Longest Time

For a basic hula hoop game, ask all employees that know hula hoop to raise their hands. Select a few of those people to come up and give them about two minutes to practice. After two minutes, start the game. The employee who can hula hoop the longest wins the game and a prize. Another variation is to ask the employees to show you their best hula hoop trick. Award prizes for the best and funniest hula hoop tricks.

Roll It

Give the employees each a hula hoop and have them line up on a starting line side-by-side. Play this game in a large room so the hoops have room to roll. Tell the employees they must stand the hoop on its side and roll it as hard as possible. They only get one roll and the player who has the hoop that goes the farthest distance from the line wins the game. To make the game harder, have the employees roll the hoop while standing backwards.

Multiple Hoops

Divide the employees into two even teams and have each team stand in a circle holding hands. Undo two player's hands and place a hula hoop in the circle, then have them join hands again. When you say, "Race," the employees must pass the hula hoop around their team circle without letting go of each other's hands. They will have to crawl through the hoop to make it maneuver around the circle. The first team to get the hoop back where it started in the circle wins the game. To make the game harder, add three or four hoops to each team circle.

Relay Race

Make a relay race using the hoops for your employees. Mark a starting line and run-to line about 20 feet apart. Divide the players into two teams and have them line up at the starting line. Give the first player in each team line a hula hoop. When you say, "Go," the first player in each team line must roll the hula hoop to the run-to line and back to the next player. The next player in line must do the same thing. The first team to finish the hoop relay race wins the game.
