Word An Invitation To A Children'S Luau Party

Leis are a luau must-have.

If you want to celebrate fun in the sun with your kids and you cannot make it to the beach this year, throwing a children's luau party is a great alternative. You can create your own invitations using your home printer and a computer program, such as Word, Paint for Microsoft, Text Editor or Print Shop for Mac. In addition to decorating the invitations, it is important to word them correctly. Selecting the proper wording lets your child's friends and their parents know what to expect. Well-worded invitations also make the day easier on you.

Instructions

1. Type something exciting onto the invitation header, such as "Ready for a Trip to Hawaii?" or "Prepare for an Island Adventure!" This will grab the attention of the invited child and make it less likely that he will forget to show the invitation to his parents. If you really want to get creative, see whether you can incorporate your child's name into the header, such as "You're Invited to Lindsay's Luau!" or "Tristan's Tropical Adventure!"

2. List your child's name, the day, date and time of the party, your phone number and an RSVP date on the invitation. If your child's friends have not been to your house before, provide your address and directions to the house when her friends' parents call to RSVP.

3. Type "Be sure to bring swim trunks, sunscreen and a towel" on the invitation if your luau is also a pool party.

4. Add a segment about your child's birthday if the luau party is doubling as a birthday party. That way, invited children will remember to bring party gifts.

5. Let other parents know on the invitation whether they are permitted to attend. It can be helpful to have other parents around to help out, especially if the luau is a pool party with very young children.

6. Let other parents know whether they should send a snack with their child.
