Write A Hawaiian Invitation

Hawaiian invitations are often sent to invite guests to a luau, which is a Hawaiian-style party that is decorated with items like leis, grass skirts and tiki torches. If you've never written a Hawaiian invitation before, it may seem a bit challenging. Use common party information -- such as location, date and time -- and include Hawaiian phrases.

Instructions

1. Write a brief title in Hawaiian at the top of the invitation card. The title should reflect the type of party the guests are invited to. For instance, "Come celebrate" is written "Hele mei hoohiwahiwa" in Hawaiian. Write "Hele mei hoohiwahiwa! Jamie's Birthday Luau Bash!"

2. Pen in the location of the event. An example is "Join us at Lanikai Beach." The Hawaiian phrase for "Please join us" is " Ho'olu komo la kaua."

3. Include the day and time of the event. This goes directly below the location of the event. "Manawa" is Hawaiian for date/time.

4. Write in your RSVP information. Include your phone number and/or email address so guests can let you know whether or not they can attend. Reply/answer is "Hua loa'a" in Hawaiian.

5. Tell guests to bring anything they may need at the event (for example, a beach towel, floaties, Hawaiian-themed clothes).
