Spongebob Squarepants is a float here, but he's also an easy target for a birthday party.
Throwing a Spongebob Squarepants birthday party isn't difficult. Like any good party, it's just a matter of good planning and paying attention to details. Spongebob fans are not going to be too picky as long as the party themes are consistent with life in Bikini Bottom. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Make or buy Spongebob SquarePants themed invitations. There are plenty of pre-printed cards available. To make your own, stamp, draw, color or use stickers to create a sea motif invitation. Write a message using language from the show, such as, "You're invited to Bikini Bottom for a Super-Riffic Birthday Party!" Write the where, when, and RSVP inside the invitation.
2. Plan Spongebob related games for the party. Some sample games are the "Spongebob Toss" and the "Krabby Patty Race." For the toss, fill a large party tub with water and five square sponges. Set up a sand bucket a distance away from the kids, and then have them try to toss the sponges into the bucket. In the Krabby Patty Race, kids try to make a Krabby Patty the fastest. A Krabby Patty consists of two vanilla wafers, a blob of white frosting, half of a toasted coconut marshmallow, red fruit roll-ups cut into squares and shredded coconut. Make all of these in advance (use food coloring to dye the coconut green) and set them up in an assembly line.
3. Make or order a Spongebob Squarepants birthday cake. Most bakeries and grocery stores ofter Spongebob-themed cakes. You can also make a Spongebob or Patrick cake fairly easily--use a square pan for Spongebob, and a heart pan (turn cake upside down) for Patrick. Use food coloring to dye the icing, and black decorating icing for some of the facial features and clothing.
4. Create a theme table for the party bags, favors, cake and plates. Surround the area with helium-filled Mylar Spongebob balloons and bright yellow balloons. Decorate the room with blue streamers to represent water, and place a fresh pineapple on the table. If you have any fish, move their bowls to a spot close to the table. If you have any Spongebob Lego sets, put them up on the table for an extra-special touch.
