Word Invitations For Wedding Shower & Group Gifts

Inform guests of registry information on a piece of paper included with, but separate from, the invitation.

If you are hosting a wedding shower for a friend who is getting married, then you are in charge of sending out invitations to guests. The etiquette gurus at the late Emily Post's website advise that you should not include specific information about gifts on the invitation. But you can include registry information on a separate sheet in the envelope with the shower invitation.

Instructions

1. Consult the bride before writing or finalizing the registry information. You want to reflect her wishes for gift-giving. Some brides, for example, do not want gifts. They would rather that wedding shower guests give to a charity on her behalf. By consulting the bride before designing your invitation supplements, you also will gather important information regarding where she is registered.

2. Open a new word document on in your computer's word processing program, and type out the specific information related to the bride's registry information. For example, you might want to include wording that follows the following formula: "The bride is registered at Miss Muffet's Kitchen Shoppe and Eleanor's Home Decor." or "Melissa is registered at Sussana's Seaside Shop."

3. Type out donation information for a bride who does not want gifts. Follow a formula similar to the following: "In lieu of gifts, the bride asks that donations be made to Little Wonders Foundation."

4. Print the gift registry information on card stock. Cut out the card with a pair of decorative scissors and slip behind the invitation in the envelope.
