Instructions

Word Notices for a 50th Wedding Anniversary

1. Identify if the couple of honor actually wants a celebration held. If so, the notice and invitation will likely be one in the same. If not, the notice can be used to announce the couple's happy day, along with any desired accompanying information, and will not need to communicate any event details.

2. Determine if the couple wants the notice to be from them or from a hosting party, which will dictate the appropriate wording. Likely, the text will read: "Susan and Mark Smith's children and grandchildren wish to announce the 50th Wedding Anniversary of the happy couple."

3. Express gratitude for friends and family. "We thank you all for your love and caring support over the years" is one example of what can be written. Modify the text according to your personal preferences.

4. Include a picture, if possible, of the bride and groom on their wedding day along with the date: "7 April 1962." You can also include a current photo of the couple and note "Then and Now."

5. Ask the bride and groom if they have a favorite relevant quotation that could be listed on the anniversary notice. You can also consider writing a poem dedicated to the couple and including the text at the top of the notice or off to the side.
