With People on PS3
Sony's gaming powerhouse, the PlayStation 3, is generally accepted to be the most technologically advanced of the current generation systems. Known for exclusive game franchises like Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, Demon's Souls and MAG, the PlayStation 3 remains popular despite its high price point. While the single player action is enjoyable, online connectivity can be even better as it brings players together from around the world. Learn connect to this international community by using the PlayStation Network (PSN).
Instructions
1. For a wired connection, connect your PlayStation 3 to broadband internet with an Ethernet cable. The Ethernet port is located on the back of the system. For Wi-Fi, you will need an internet-connected wireless router. If your wireless router requires a password for access, you can enter this password in the "Network Settings" menu on the Cross Media bar.
2. Insert any game with online functionality into the PS3 console (check the back of a game box to make sure you can play that particular game online).
3. Select the "Sign Up for PlayStation Network" icon on the Cross Media bar. Input the requested information to complete your registration. Unlike Xbox Live, using the PlayStation Network is free of charge.
4. Start the game and access the main menu. You should see a "Multiplayer" or "Online" option. Select it and enjoy the online community experience.
