Visit Different Resorts While At Disney World

Take Disney transportation to spend a day out of the parks.

Newcomers to Walt Disney World are often amazed at the size and complexity of the entire site, and even veteran Disney guests find new places to explore each time that they visit. Although the parks themselves are the main attraction to the complex, the resort hotels offer a different sort of entertainment. Most of the Disney resorts offer organized activities for children and all of them include places to eat, from casual snack bars to a five-diamond world-class restaurant. Getting from your resort to the others in Walt Disney World is simply a matter of taking advantage of the Disney transportation system.

Instructions

1. Obtain a map of the Walt Disney World complex from the front desk of your resort hotel. This will show you the location of all the resorts on the park property. Make a note of your chosen resorts and their locations in relation to the others.

2. Inquire at the front desk if you have a certain experience in mind, but you are unsure which resort may offer what you need. Disney cast members are trained to give helpful information on all activities. From scavenger hunts to night vision animal-watching, there is a resort that offers it and Disney cast members can point the way.

3. Line up in front of your resort at the appointed transportation spot. If you are staying at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the Polynesian or the Contemporary, this will be at the monorail station. At all the other resorts you will be waiting for a transportation bus. Bring your room key, as it serves as your identification as a Disney guest.

4. Ride to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC), unless you are on a monorail and wish to visit another monorail resort. The TTC is the main hub for all free Walt Disney World modes of transportation. Search for the marked spot for your chosen bus, or go up the ramp to the monorail station. Buses run on a regular schedule from before park opening to hours after parks close, so you normally won't have to wait more than 15 minutes for a ride. The bus drivers are supposed to ask for your room key as proof that you are a Disney guest, but this doesn't always happen.

5. Get onto your chosen bus or monorail and ride to your resort location. Spend time discovering the resort, then catch a ride to the next one on the line, or go back to the TTC and go to a different side of the park and explore a new resort hotel.
