Use Vinegar For Clogged Jets In A Dishwasher

Clogged sprayer jets can become a problem in any dishwasher. Over time, the trace minerals in hard water can cause buildup around the jets, causing blockage. A mild acid, such as vinegar, can efficiently remove mineral buildup from the interior of a dishwasher. This process requires very little labor, because the vinegar does most of the work for you. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Examine each spray jet for pieces of debris, such as food particles or labels from new dishes or glassware. Remove the debris with tweezers, if possible.

2. Saturate a paper towel in undiluted white vinegar. Use one sheet of paper towel for each spray jet.

3. Cover the spray jets with the saturated paper towels, and allow the vinegar to soak the mineral deposits for at least 15 minutes. Scrub the jets firmly with the paper towel to wipe away any loose particles.

4. Fill a cup with white vinegar. Set the cup on the top rack, and run the dishwasher at high heat. The combination of high temperature and vinegar helps loosen any remaining buildup.
