Plan A Hawaiian Christmas Vacation

Christmas in Hawaii

Often called the "land called paradise," Hawaii is a sought-after destination comprised of several islands. One of the best times to plan a vacation to Hawaii is during Christmas, when you can experience all the Hawaiian traditions in a beautiful tropical paradise. With some planning and research, you can be singing "Jingle Bells" surrounded by beautiful beaches, volcanoes and natural wonders.

Instructions

Plan a Hawaiian Christmas Vactation

1. Research the islands of Hawaii. Choose where you want to stay during Christmas. The main islands are Hawaii, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai. While all of the islands feature Christmas festivities, Oahu in particular is famous for its festive light displays and Christmas-centered events.

2. Book a flight in advance. Traveling to Hawaii during the Christmas season is cheaper, compared to traveling during the summer. Purchase tickets as early as six months in advance for the best deals.

3. Book your accommodations. As soon as you book your flight, put down a deposit where you want to stay. A vacation home or condo in Hawaii is often cheaper and more readily available during the Christmas season.

4. Reserve your rental car as early as possible. Regardless of what island you are staying on, Hawaii is best seen when you cover a lot of ground by car. During the Christmas holiday car rental rates can increase, if you do not reserve your car early.

5. Make a list of the Christmas events you want to see. In addition to the regular sights, Hawaii has numerous Christmas events, craft fairs, concerts, church ceremonies, traditional festivities and the Honolulu City Lights Trolley. Since these events are at different times and locations, organize what you want to see. Purchase your tickets ahead of time.

6. Plan your Christmas Day dinner in Hawaii. When deciding where to say, find out which places serve Christmas dinner. Many places include dinner, coupled with Hawaiian entertainment that includes hula dancers and Hawaiian music.
