Rent A Suit

When you need a suit for a formal event but only need it for one day, it's not a bad idea to rent a suit. Suits are fairly affordable, so if you think you might need a suit on more than one occasion you might wish to purchase one instead. Renting a suit is a fairly easy process--read on to learn more.

Instructions

1. Visit a local formal wear store. Formal wear stores rent and sell tuxedos, wedding gowns and formal dresses. They usually rent suits as well. Because suit rental isn't likely their main point of business, you may have less options than if you were to rent a tuxedo.

2. Have your measurements taken by a store representative. Try on some pants to show the employee what size you wear. It is important to ensure that your suit fits properly for the big event.

3. Choose the style and color of suit that you would like. The main styles of suits are single breasted and double breasted. Decide whether you'd like your suit to be made of wool or polyester. Pick a style such as gabardine, poplin or pinstripe.

4. Rent a tie that will match your date's gown, if you are attending an event with a date. Also rent or purchase shoes, a shirt, socks and a belt, if you don't have items that will match your rental suit.

5. Pick up the suit the day before your big day. Try on the suit in the store to make sure it fits properly. Wear your suit to your event and return it the next day.
