Ideas For The Marketing Plans Of Bars And Grills

Create a signature food, like a kebab, for your restaurant.


Starting a bar and grill requires an aggressive marketing plan if you want to succeed, especially if it is in an area where there are other similar restaurants. Getting a list of the local demographics from your local chamber of commerce will help you to make the best marketing decisions.


Charity


Plan a charity event at your restaurant. A portion of one day's proceeds goes to a local charity. For example, if there is a homeless shelter in your area, donate 10 percent of what you make on a certain day to the shelter. The organization will help you get the word out to people in addition to your advertising efforts. This gives people a chance to visit your restaurant so they will come back in the future. It also shows that you care about the well-being of the community.


Media Advertising


Advertise on local media. Use commercials, newspaper advertising and billboards. Use any form of advertising relevant to the town you are in, especially for the restaurant's grand opening. Advertise your happy hours and any specials when you first open the restaurant. The specials are what will get people to come try you out as opposed to your competitors.


Event Hosting


Host an event at the bar and grill. For example, if there is a pay-per-view fight on, order it and advertise to everyone that you will be showing it. It is often expensive to show pay-per-view fights, so advertise well ahead of time. You can make a name for yourself as the bar and grill that shows the fights.


Signature Food and Drink


Have a signature food and drink that people can get only at your establishment. Since you are a bar, create a signature beer that you brew, or a mixed drink, and name it something similar to the name of your restaurant. Since you are a grill, have a type of meat, or other grilled dish, that has a "secret recipe" only you make. Having these items enables word of mouth to do the marketing for you in time. People will tell their friends, "You have to try this drink! I don't know what they put in it, but it's amazing!"
