Make Baked Pineapple Dessert

Use fresh pineapple if possible, but canned pineapple also works.


If you're looking for an easy, delicious and different dessert recipe, try this baked pineapple. Baking pineapple gives it a unique flavor, and it is sure to please. Baked pineapple dessert goes well with a ham dinner and makes a fantastic topping for ice cream. Add this to my Recipe Box.


Instructions


1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Baked pineapple dessert can also be done on a grill in a grill-safe pan. I don't recommend using cast iron, as the acids from the pineapple can react with the cast iron and alter the taste of your baked pineapple dessert.


2. Place fresh pineapple chunks in pan. Sprinkle a heavy layer of brown sugar on top of pineapple chunks, and add a few dashes of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. Drizzle melted butter over baked pineapple dessert.


3. Bake pineapple dessert uncovered for about 20 minutes. You will know your baked pineapple dessert is done when the brown sugar has melted and has started to caramelize, and the edges of the pineapple have started to brown slightly.


4. Remove the baked pineapple dessert from the oven with oven mits. Let cool for 5 minutes and enjoy!
