Instructions

1. Start with an Asian inspired centerpiece for your themed table. Find a rectangular or square tray with simple lines. Place three pillar candles in a tow down the middle. The candles should be white, cream or pale watercolors. Surround the candle with smooth stones.

2. Arrange place mats made of bamboo or other natural materials.

3. Set your Asian themed table with simple China. If you have square plates, this is the time to use them.

4. Transfer the Japanese art of origami to your napkins, and fashion some unusual folds. If your art skills don't go quite that far, simply roll up the napkins and tie with a bit of raffia. Place a napkin in the center of each plate.

5. Go once again to natural elements for your place cards. With a permanent marker, write the name of each guest on a rock or on a tiny Terra cotta planter filled with soil. Push a few sticks of bamboo into the soil. Either of these makes an unusual party favor to take home.

6. Lay out chopsticks instead of silverware. Stash some forks and knives in a nearby drawer in case your guests can't manage their food with Asian utensils.
