Create your own elegant invitations.
You want your wedding invitations to be elegant and perfect, but you don't want to empty your wallet to create the look you are going for. With some time, a little bit of patience and some supplies, you can create simply elegant wedding invitations right from your own home.
Instructions
1. Choose a font. Most home computers have a plethora of fonts available to print very elegant font styles. Scroll through the fonts that are available on your computer and pick the style of font that you like. If you do not see a font that you like, you can also search online for fonts. There may be a fee to download a font from online, so keep this cost in mind, especially if you are trying to stay within a certain budget.
2. Create your text. The next step in creating wedding invitations is to choose the wording of the invitation. You can create your own text or go to free websites like www.verseit.com and choose pre-written verses. Once you have chosen your verse, you are now ready to print the invitations.
3. Print the invitations. You can use a word processing program like Microsoft Word to print your invitations. When you open the document, be sure to set the paper size to the size of your invitation and then type your verse in the font that you have chosen into the word processing program. It is usually best to feed one invitation at a time into the printer.
4. Add an embellishment. Pre-made bows, pressed flowers or jewel embellishments make great additions to wedding invitations. Once the invitation is printed, add your embellishment of choice. Sometimes the grade of the cardstock and the stylish font are enough to make the invitation elegant without adding an embellishment.
5. Print and address the envelopes. Now you are ready to address the envelopes and place your invitation inside of the mailing envelope. You can use the same word processing program and font to print your envelopes. If you have other inserts to go along with the invitation such as response card and envelope, and/or reception card and envelope, you can print these the same way that you printed the invitations, using the matching font.
