Ideas For A Kid'S Birthday At The Park

Kids love to be outside, so why not throw your kid's party at a local park? Try these ideas to make your kid's birthday unique and memorable. Does this Spark an idea?

Not Just Another Day at the Park

Bringing a group of kids to the park may seem like an easy way to throw a birthday party, but you may find that the kids view it as "just another day at the park." To make the party memorable, try to include fun activities like relay races, collage crafts or face painting. Start the party with a plant guessing game: you tape a card with the name of a flower or vegetable on it to each child's head and children take turns giving each other clues so that they can guess which plant they have.

Picnic Party

Who says that a birthday party has to take place at a table? Spread a huge, colorful sheet (or several of them, depending on the size of the guest list) on the ground. Give out colored plastic plates and utensils, or any disposable dishes that match the party's theme. To clean up, just wrap up the garbage when everyone is finished and dump it into a trash can at once.

Goody Bag Hunt

Don't just give out the goody bags for free; make the kids work for them. Hide goody bags at the end of a treasure hunt, but don't tell the kids what the treasure is. Instead, break them up into two teams and give the teams different clues that lead through different areas of the park. (One chaperone should stay with each group.) The team that gets to the end first gets the goody bags -- and gets to distribute them to the other team.
