Interactive Baby Shower Games

Games make baby showers memorable. Gathering a group of family and friends to celebrate the new baby can be tough, as many of the guests will not be familiar with each other. Interactive games help to break the ice and encourage the guests to interact with each other. Does this Spark an idea?

Blindfolded Baby Food

Guests are paired up and given blindfolds to play the blindfolded baby food game. The pairs then must get on the floor on all fours. One is given a jar of baby food or pudding and the other person wears the blindfold and puts the handle of a spoon in her mouth. The blindfolded guest must try to feed her partner using only the spoon and her mouth. The first pair to finish their food wins.

Puzzle Game

Most people can remember favorite nursery rhymes. Before the baby shower, you will need to write nursery rhymes on separate pieces of paper and cut them up, placing each "puzzle" in an envelope. Later, guests get into small groups of at least three people. Each team gets an envelope with a puzzle inside. The first group to put the puzzle together and stand up to sing the nursery rhyme it contains wins the game.

Dress the Baby

Dressing a baby can be tricky, but in this game guests must do so blindfolded.

In a race to dress the baby, the guests are paired off and then blindfolded. Each pair is given a doll, clothes, a diaper and baby powder. They must work together to get their baby dressed the fastest. The first pair to have the baby dressed and powdered wins the game.

Baby Charades

An interactive baby shower game that doesn't require a lot of props is baby charades. As in regular charades, one person acts out a word or a phrase and their team must guess what they're trying to swin a point. Before the party, you should take slips of paper and put baby-related words and phrases on them and have guests pick randomly. Some ideas might be night feeding, changing a diaper, fussy or burping.

Toilet Paper Diaper

Teams must create a toilet paper diaper in this game.

Another interactive game is the toilet paper diaper game. Guests are paired off and given a roll of toilet paper. Using the entire roll of toilet paper, one person must put a toilet paper diaper on her partner as neatly as possible. The first team to finish wins.

Clothesline Game

The clothes line game challenges guests to hang clothes while their hands are full.

Two guests will hold the ends of a long piece of string or yarn as the clothesline. Then each of the other guests takes a turn pinning clothes from a laundry basket on the line. The twist in the clothesline game is that the guest must also hold a phone to her ear and a baby doll in one arm. The guest who pins the most clothes to the line in 30 seconds wins the game.
