Waikiki in Hawaii is a lively place of white sand beaches, upscale hotels, tropical sunsets, shopping, fine dining and nightlife--all in only 1.5 square miles of land. Waikiki boasts of many tourist spots. It is home to some of Hawaii's finest restaurants, many of them within walking distance of each other. There are many Korean restaurants in Waikiki, as are there many Korean tourists and residents. Some of these eateries are fine dining restaurants, many specialize in barbecues and not a few offer sushi and sashimi.
Seoul Jung Restaurant
This restaurant is located in the Waikiki Resort Hotel. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Its authentic Korean dishes include barbecue short ribs, shrimps, fish and other seafood specialties, beef, noodle dishes, pork, soups, side dishes, stew, rice, sushi and sashimi and tofu dishes. Appetizers, baked goods and desserts also are offered. Entrees come accompanied by vegetable side dishes. Reservations are accepted, and there are facilities for private dining, banquets and meetings for as few as six persons and as large a group as 300 people.

Sorabol Korean Restaurant
Sorabol is open every day 24 hours a day, including holidays. Its website carries pictures of beautifully presented sushi and sashimi. Its specialty is samkaetang, or ginseng chicken soup. Menu categories include barbecues, lunch, dinner, general dishes and side orders. There are 16 barbecues, including rib eyes, boneless chicken, sirloins, tenderloin, pork fatback, shrimps, cow's tongue, liver, tripe and stomach. Sorabol recently offered a special for two that had kalbi, char-broiled yellow corvine, seasoned raw crab, fish jun, tofu stew, dried Korean-style nori, vegetable side dishes, steamed rice and a dessert drink.

So Gong Dong Restaurant
This Korean restaurant in the McCully Shopping Center advertises itself as the home of soon doo boo (tofu) soup. It is open for lunch and dinner every day, including holidays. It has a take-out menu and a table menu. The soon doo boo comes in different varieties, which include the original, combination, mushroom, spam and dried seaweed. Other major dishes include samkaetang, barbecue plates, yakiniku with table cooking, and noodles. Drinks offered include wine, sake and local and imported beers. The restaurant delivers and is capable of hosting parties for up to 120 people. The shopping center has ample parking.
