Ideas For 1st Birthday Party Invitations

The first birthday milestone! While baby may be oblivious to all the fuss, the party planners could always use some help. If your guest list is ready, the next step is to send out 1st birthday party invitations. While choosing the invitation, remember that if you wish, you could use the same theme for the birthday party. So, choose accordingly. The possibilities are endless. And this is one occasion, when it's perfectly okay - expected of you, even - to have fun! Pick out a first birthday party invitation that will set the stage for the fabulous party ahead. Does this Spark an idea?

'One' Theme

Center the first birthday party invitation around the theme # 1. You could make or purchase cards that are shaped like the number One. This classic theme never gets tiring. You could also experiment with alternative representations of the theme, such as the words First or Uno. Use words that play around the theme of One. The most common ones are 'Look who's turning One', or ' My very first birthday party'. You could use imagery such as a baby's finger, or one candle, or one hair sticking out of a baby's head to indicate your theme. The verses could reflect on the first year of baby, first experiences or milestones.

Baby's Favorite/s

Does baby love Elmo, Yellow Bird or Nemo? Was 'Duck' one of her first words or Old McDonald's the first song she recognized? Does she prefer a particular fruit, color or stuffed toy to others? Draw inspiration for baby's first birthday party invitation straight from the source. A card shaped like a duck, or apple or with a Yellow Bird theme may not be the first idea that springs to your mind, but, maybe that's the best way to tell people a little but about baby's personality. After all, she is the star of the day. If she enjoys a certain type of music or has a favorite place she likes to visit, you could create an invitation that ties that in. The words you choose should go hand-in-hand with your theme.

Personalized

It's baby's first birthday. What better theme to choose for the invitation than baby herself. You could make prints of one of her pictures and glue it on the front of the invitation - ' Look who's having her first birthday!'. To make it a little mysterious, you could get her hand prints, foot prints or both and ask people ' Guess who's turning One.' Another idea is to create a calendar marked with baby's activities during her first year, with entries like Month 2 - held my head, Month 6 - had first cereal, Today(Party Date) - My First B'day Party!
