Paint Designs With Felt

Painting with felt is as simple as using a stamp and enables you to create an intricate looking pattern. Felt exists in many types of products that can be great tools for painting. While absorbent, felt is also washable and can be used for multiple projects. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Choose a pattern to create your felt stamp, or choose a precut felt product.


2. Take one sheet of felt and lay it on a flat surface. Draw or trace your design onto the felt. Use a utility knife on narrow areas of your design and scissors to finish cutting away unwanted pieces.


3. Make sure the surface is clean and the floor or project area is covered with plastic. Lay your felt design on a flat surface and use a paint roller to lightly apply paint to the felt stamp.


4. Test the stamp on a piece of scrap paper or cardboard. Re-apply paint if necessary, and press the stamp to the wall or project surface.


5. Using a flat piece of cardboard or wood, apply pressure evenly over the stamp. Remove the board and gently peel away the felt. Use a damp rag to wipe away smudges and drips.
