Remove Bicycle Decals

Remove bicycle decals with vinegar.

When your newly purchased bicycle comes with unwanted decals, or if you have decorated your bike with decals that you now wish to remove, you must figure out a sticker removal routine. When removing decals, target the adhesive, as the adhesive makes the decal stick. Keep in mind which cleaning ingredients are safe for the bike itself, as harsh chemicals will eat the paint off of the bike. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Sprinkle vinegar over a paper towel until the towel is soaked.

2. Wrap the paper towel tightly around the bicycle decal, and let sit for 10 minutes.

3. Remove the paper towel, and attempt to pull off the decal. Remove the entire decal if it is loose, or apply a new vinegar-saturated paper towel over the decal and let sit for another 10 minutes.

4. Rub the paper towel with vinegar over the bicycle after you remove the decal.

5. Rinse a fresh paper towel with hot water, and rub over the bike to remove leftover vinegar from the bike's paint.
