Classy invitations can be within your budget.
A bat mitzvah is an important time in a Jewish girl's life, when she is considered to have "come of age" and graduated from a child to an adult. Some families choose to celebrate this sacred time with a small celebration, while others go all out with a large party. Printing your invitations will not only cut down on costs, but also can be done quickly, easily and with results that are as beautiful as costly professional invitations.
Instructions
1. Purchase card stock paper in the color of your choice, such as a color that matches the theme for the bat mitzvah party. Card stock is a thick, heavy type of paper that is used for invitations. Buy enough to send one to each guest and a few extra in case of mistakes.
2. Open a new document in Microsoft Word by opening the program, choosing "File" and clicking on "New."
3. Click on "File" once again and choose "Page Setup," then click on the "Paper" tab. Set the height and width sections to match the size of your card stock.
4. Adjust the margin settings to match the margins for your card stock by measuring the distance from the outside edge of the card stock until the point where you want the writing to start and end. Click on the "Margin" tab and enter the numbers accordingly. For example, if your paper measures 6 inches across and you would like the writing to begin 1 inch from the left side and end 1 inch from the right, set your left and right margins as 1 inch each. Do the same thing for the top and bottom margins.
5. Type the information for the invitation on the document, making sure to space it as you would like it to appear on your printed invitation.
6. Highlight the entire document and choose a font for your invitation by pulling down the "Font" tab on the toolbar and scrolling until you reach a font that you like. Set the size and color of the writing by using the toolbar.
7. Click on "File" and choose "Print Preview" to see what your invitation will look like when it is printed.
8. Insert one card stock paper in your printer and choose "Print" to make sure it prints to your liking.
9. Make adjustments, if necessary, and print all invitations.
