Organize An Endofyear School Party

An apple for each child--not just the teacher--makes a sweet treat for an end-of-the-year school party.

Celebrate the milestone of another school year completed with a festive party. Organizing a fun end-of-year school party can be done with a few good ideas, including the right food and favors and plenty of help from parents, teachers and kids. Choose a theme and get started. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Round up volunteers. At least a week before the party, get in touch with parents who can help. Perhaps send a letter home with the children in the class, or an email to all the parents explaining what is needed for the party and when it is required. Ask for volunteers to sign up to help.

2. Fill out certificates for the kids. At least a week before the party, fill out the blank certificates so that each child can receive one at the party. The certificates should have the child's name and a congratulatory message that another year has been successfully completed.

3. Prepare the food. Have one volunteer bring enough pizza for each child and adult who will attend the party. Alternatively, have the pizza delivered right to the classroom.

Make sure the apples that will be served are washed and dry. Put them in attractive bowls or baskets for the children to help themselves.

Near the food, place a self-serve pile of paper plates and napkins. Have an adult pour water into cups for children.

4. Decorate the room. Balloons, streamers, signs, confetti or any combination of these can be excellent additions to a classroom to liven it up for a party. Have one adult arrive early to make sure things are looking festive before the celebration begins.

5. Hand out the certificates. Before the eating begins, have one adult call each child to the front of the class to receive a certificate.

6. Clean up the room. After the party, make sure everyone helps clean up. Children can pitch in by throwing disposable items away on their own. Everybody can offer a hand in taking down decorations. Balloons can go home with children, if there are enough for everybody to have one.
