Young girls will enjoy a Barbie Birthday party.
If your daughter loves playing with her Barbie dolls, you may want to center her next Birthday party around that theme. Of course, proper planning of this Barbie Birthday party is key if you want it to be a party your child will remember for years to come. You will want to tie your invitations, decorations, games, and party foods in to the Barbie theme. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Choose a date, time, and location for your Barbie Birthday party; give yourself a month in advance to get invitations ready and sent.
2. Make a guest list and draw up your invitations. You can purchase Barbie invitations at almost any department or party goods store, or you can make them yourself. Just use pink or purple card stock to create the card. Write your lettering with some glitter pens, and paste a picture of Barbie on the front of the invitation. Send out the invitations three weeks before the party is set to take place.
3. Gather together your decorations. You should stick to pinks and purples when it comes to balloons and crepe paper. Feather boas and Barbie cut-outs are good choices for a Barbie party. You will want to get Barbie plates, cups, and a Barbie tablecloth for the food table. If you plan on ordering these supplies, make sure you do it in enough time to arrive before the party. Some companies may offer you express shipping.
4. Create crafts for the girls to do before the party. Barbie wears make-up, so you can have the girls create their own lip gloss and body glitter. You will need 2 tbsp. vegetable shortening, and 1 tbsp. of Kool-Aid powder. Melt the two together and pour in to a 2 oz. container. Set in the fridge to cool and harden. Body glitter can be made from mixing aloe gel and glitter. Make sure you have all of the supplies you need at least the day before the party.
5. Choose a few games for party goers to play. Purchase a Barbie fairy coloring book and cut out a few fairies. Hide the fairies around the party area for a "scavenger hunt" and have the girls go out on a mission to rescue the fairies. Amazing Moms suggests you get a toy Bibble (a toy character in Barbie's fairyland) and play a game similar to Hot Potato. Pass Bibble while the music is playing. When the music stops, the child holding the Bibble doll will be out. Keep going until you have only one child left. Make sure you have the supplies for the games at least the day before the party.
6. Order or make the food you will need for your party at least one week ahead of time. You can order a Barbie Birthday cake at any bakery if you are not good at baking and decorating cakes. Pink punch is also perfect for a Barbie Birthday. You will need 24 oz. of fruit punch, 3 liters of ginger ale, and a few scoops of rainbow sherbet. If the party is taking place during lunch hours, just plan to make a few simple finger sandwiches.
