Cruise Ship
Cruises are a lot of fun now even if you don't stop at any ports. They are great for entire families and have activities for every age group. What makes cruising even more fun is when you pick a destination that you are passionate about. The Caribbean is a great place to consider. It has beautiful beaches, Pirate ships, stingray swims, dolphin swims, island tours, shopping, and much more.
Instructions
1. Choose which cruise ship company you want to go with. Carnival Cruises has some of the best Caribbean excursions to take, and their ships are top of the line. Royal Caribbean Cruise ships specialize in taking passengers back and forth to the Caribbean. Princess Cruises has a ship called The Caribbean Princess that goes strictly to and from the Caribbean. These are the three major competitors you are going to want to check out and decide on. The link for each company is listed for you in the Resources section.
2. Register for each site. By registering, you can claim your free Carnival Cruise planning DVD. This is not necessary, but the video is fun to watch and it will give you a visual of how much fun you are going to have. Princess Cruises also offers a free vacation planning DVD and also an online brochure you can download.
3. Check your dates. See what vacation dates you have available. That will help you to narrow your search. If you know you will have some time off in September, click the drop down menu on the home page that says any month. Pull up September. Next, you want to click your destination from the drop down menu. There are 3 Caribbean destinations you are going to want to choose from: southern, western and eastern. You may also want to fill in what port you would be leaving from such as Miami, Florida. Finally, choose how many days you want your cruise to last. Click submit. Each website should then be able to give you a list of available cruises that meet all of your criteria.
4. Choose a cruise from your narrowed down choices. You should have several that match your qualifications from step 3. Choose the ship you like best and that has the activities you like to do the most.
5. Pick some excursions. Excursions are trips you can take when you dock at the Caribbean.
6. Add up all the costs of the rooms, excursions and all travel expenses that you may have. Tack on some extra money for souvenirs, and you have your goal. The prices will be different for each cruise line because they charge different amounts for their staterooms. Compare all three situations and choose the one you want. Then divide the number of weeks by the amount you need for your vacation. This is how much you need to set aside each week to afford your Caribbean vacation.
7. Call Carnival Cruises, Royal Caribbean International or Princess Cruises if you have any special needs. They would be happy to accommodate you and get your room all set up. The phone number for Carnival Cruises is 1-888-CARNIVAL. The phone number for Princess Cruises is 1-800-PRINCESS. The phone number for Royal is 1-800-398-9819.
