A Christmas party is an ideal setting to gather your child's friends together for some holiday fun.
Children love to have parties, especially around Christmas. A Christmas party is an ideal setting to gather your child's friends together for some holiday fun. For a large party to be a success for you and the children, you need to plan ahead--don't wait until the last minute. Planning ahead will allow you to have fun at the party instead of stressing about the details. An effective hostess or host has everything ready when guests arrive. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Choose a theme for your Christmas party. This will make decorating and partying so much easier. You might select a Christmas figure children will relate to, like a Santa or Frosty the Snowman motif. Or you could stick with something simpler like having a snowflake theme or Christmas ornament theme.
2. Create or order your invitations for the party. The invitations should contain pertinent information like date, time and locations. Include any special requests like an RSVP. If your party will include a gift exchange, ask each child to bring a gift to give a friend--set a price limit too.
3. Count and confirm with a phone call each RSVP you receive. You should ask how many parents will be attending. These numbers will be used to give the caterer.
4. Select a holiday menu for your party. Your menu should include simple finger foods that kids can eat without a lot of mess. The rule of thumb for serving appetizers is eight per guest. Of course, you aren't restricted to this number, but this what they eat on average. Multiply eight times the number of guests you have confirmed. That's how many finger foods or individual appetizers you'll need to feed everyone. Decide what type of punch you'll be serving.
5. Recruit help for your party. You'll need two people to work the food tables and at least one to serve punch so that children aren't tempted to play with the punch in the bowl. Hire a DJ to play music for the children or an entertainer like a mime or clown.
6. Shop for your Christmas party decorations. Shop for plates, cups and napkins using the theme you choose. Buy materials to make centerpieces and decorations for walls.
