Party invitation
At one time, party invitations had to be either hand made or bought at a store. With advances in technology, it is possible to print out you own invitations right from your home computer. Most people avoid doing this because they are afraid the invites will look cheap or ugly. This just isn't the case anymore; several sites offer very nice invitations that look professional when printed. To make the nicest invites, be sure to use thick paper, such as card stock, and make sure your printer cartridges aren't low on ink. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Open up your Internet browser. Make sure you are on a computer that will allow you to print. You may want to print a test page to see how much ink you have in your printer cartridges. You will want a full-color and black-and-white printer cartridge in your printer.
2. Visit an online service that offers free printable party invitations. There are several sites available, including Microsoft Office.com, Invitationland.com and DLTK-Kids.com. Microsoft and Invitationland have invitations that look extremely professional. DLTK-Kids carries a lot of different party-themed invites. Some of their themes include Batman, Arthur, Ballerinas, the Circus, Dora, Fairies, Lady Bugs and Sesame Street.
3. Scan the invitations that seem of interest. Click on an invite to get a closer look. If you choose an invite from Microsoft, you will have to download the invite to your computer. You will need Microsoft Office already installed on your computer in order to open the template. Open the invitation template from your saved documents and type in the information for your party. Save and print a test page to see your completed invite.
4. Click on the invitation you are interested in on Invitationland.com. This will automatically open a page that allows you to type in your party information. You can also choose your invitation colors and font. Once you have created the invite, you can create it in a pdf form. This saves the invite to your computer and allows you to print it. You can create one, two, or four invites per sheet of paper.
5. Pick the theme you want from DLTK-Kids if you prefer to use a popular character or party theme. The site will take you through the process of choosing a theme, characters, color or black and white, and wording. Preview your card before you print it. Once you are happy with the invitation, print as many as you need.
