Ideas For A Girl'S 8th Birthday Cake

Make a birthday cake for that special 8-year-old girl.

When celebrating a girl's eighth birthday, cake is a must for the celebration. While planning the design and flavors in the cake, keep in mind her favorite cake flavors and designs that she may like. Also take into consideration whether or not you are going to order the cake or make it yourself. If you are going to order it from a bakery, perhaps you can get more creative with the design. Does this Spark an idea?

Ballet

Many 8-year-old girls would enjoy having a birthday cake with a ballet theme. A sheet cake that has vanilla frosting and hot-pink frosting around the trim with ballerina figurines or picture of ballerinas or ballet slippers will certainly delight her.

Animal

If your girl is a pet lover, make a cake with a cat or a dog theme. Use frosting to make pictures of cats and balls of yarn all over it, or create pictures and use figurines of dogs, such as the eye-catching black-and-white Dalmatians. These types of designs work best on cakes with vanilla frosting so that the pictures show up better.

Fish Bowl

Your 8-year-old daughter will be charmed by a birthday cake that is made to look like a fish bowl. Make a round cake and use black frosting to create the outline of "the bowl." Inside of the bowl, use blue frosting and multiple colors, such as yellow and orange, to make pictures of fish. Be creative and use green frosting to make plants and greenery inside the fish bowl.

Luau

Create the image of a Iuau party on a large, rectangular yellow or vanilla cake. Make an island on the cake using the top of a cupcake. Use blue frosting to make the image of water, or use blue food coloring in white icing. To make sand, use crushed vanilla wafers. Add gummy fish and shark candy to circle around the island. Purchase cake decorations, such as palm trees, and add them to the cake.
