Make Your Own Car Invitations

For race fans or kids who love cars, a race or car theme party may be the perfect celebration for a birthday or other special occasion. "Rev up" your guests before the party by creating your own car invitations. With a few craft supplies, you'll be at the finish line of the project in no time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Print party details. Using a word processing program or desktop publishing software, create the party verse. Print the verse on one side of 5-inch-by-7-inch pre-cut card stock. Print one invitation for each guest. Set the invitations aside and allow the ink to dry.

2. Prepare design background. Cut one 3-inch square from the black and white checkered paper for each invitation. Glue one square onto the center of each invitation on the side opposite of the verse. You can choose whether your card design is landscape or portrait.

3. Use the rubber stamp and ink pad to stamp "It's a Party," "Vroom," or another saying onto a separate piece of white card stock. Cut out the stamped wording, position and glue it to the top front of the invitation, so that it is centered from left to right. It's OK if it overlaps the black and white checkered paper.

4. Glue pictures of race cars or die-cut car shapes onto the checkered paper. Use one car picture if the shape is big, or multiple small car pictures.
