Pick Invitations For A Luau Party

Pick the perfect luau-themed invitations to send to your guests to get everyone excited about your Hawaiian bash ahead of time. Consider all the options and take into account your budget when deciding on which invitations to use. Of course, homemade invitations are more unique than store bought ones, so consider making your own if you have the time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Be Creative With Your Party Invitations

1. Think about the message-in-the-bottle idea. For a moderate price, you can buy these already constructed, sand and all. Then you can write the details on the provided card, place the card in the bottle and seal it up.

2. Buy printable store-bought invitations for the easiest way to invite your guests. Many printable invitations have Hawaiian themes to them and are ready to use right from the package.

3. Consider using an email program to send your invitations. Programs such as Evite will allow you to send to people already in your contact list with a few simple clicks (see Resources below). These programs are also great for tracking RSVPs.

4. Work wonders with a printer and home computer. Look for clip-art that captures the tropical theme you are trying to convey, or simply use your own tropical vacation photos to decorate your invitation.

5. Go to a craft store and pick up sheets of colorful foam. You can cut the foam into a sandal outline and write in the party details on the sole of the sandal. Glue shells, beads or buttons to make a thong strap on the sandal.

Think About the Details

6. Create easy to make invitations by using hula printed card stock. Cut the card stock out in the shape of a Hawaiian shirt. Write the luau details on the reverse side. Add embellishments for buttons to make a three-dimensional invitation.

7. Print your special requests right on the invitations and avoid awkward conversations later. You can suggest Hawaiian-themed attire or specify an adults-only party, or ask guests to bring a Hawaiian-themed dish to share.

8. Pick up inexpensive plastic sunglasses and slip them in the envelope along with your invitation. If possible, hand-deliver your invitations to save money and reduce postal fees.
