Organize A House Party

Organize your own house party.

A house party can be as casual or as fancy as you want it to be and can be the perfect way to celebrate any occasion, or no occasion at all. While it may seem like a lot of work to organize a house party, there are some key points that need to be planned and the rest will fall into place once you have the basics covered. Plan and organize your party from start to finish to avoid forgetting something important. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Make a guest list with a notepad and pen. Choose guests that get along with each other to avoid a party-destroying argument or any awkward conversation. Send invitations to each guest at least two weeks before the party. If you are planning a very casual party, send emails or call your guests to invite them.

2. Plan the menu and prepare the food the day before the party so you have time to finish any last-minute tasks the day of the party. Choose finger foods for a sociable and casual party or a five-course meal for something a bit more fancy.

3. Decorate the room to set the theme or atmosphere for the party. Choose simplistic, everyday decor like vases of fresh-cut flowers and a nice tablecloth to add to the way your room is already decorated if you want a cozy and casual feel. Remove your current decor and replace it with a party decor purchased from your local party center if you have a specific theme. Everything from extra furniture to catering supplies can be rented for the evening, depending on your budget.

4. Provide drinks for the party. Whether you want to host a non-alcoholic party or a party with an open bar, drinks are important. Provide a variety of sodas, both diet and regular, and offer wine, liquors and mix-ins, like flavored syrups or fruit juices.
