Print Out An Image That'S Life Size

You can print big with little problem.

Never before have there been so many ways to be hands-on and creative with photo printing. Digital cameras and imaging software facilitate the cropping and manipulation of pictures for countless projects and purposes. While many of us are familiar with standard-size photos, printing images so that they're scaled to actual size can be somewhat challenging. Whether making a standee, banner or objet d'art, large images can be printed with little problem.

Instructions

1. Measure the height of your photo's subject (the object or person) in inches.

2. Launch your photo editing software. "Open" and choose the image file containing the photo that you wish to print.

3. Select "Image Size" and turn off (uncheck or deselect) "Resample." Set the "Document Size" to "Inches."

4. Select the "Crop" tool and, in the "Option Bar," set the "Crop Height" to the measurement you obtained in Step 1. Be sure to specify "inches."

5. Drag the "Crop" tool tightly around the subject to be printed, making any necessary selection adjustments, and crop the image. It will resize automatically.

6. Rename and save your new file, using the "Save As" option.

7. Print the image according to your printer's instructions. If your resulting image is larger than your machine's maximum paper size, printing your image will require a larger format or commercial printer, available at most copy shops.
