Pack for a Vacation in Maui
Maui is a vacation paradise but there is nothing more frustrating than realizing you don't have the items you need to maximize your enjoyment. Follow the tips below to pack right -- don't over pack and don't leave essentials at home.
Instructions
1. For clothing, pack light. Maui is always warm so leave the jeans at home. Pack a light pair of long pants or capris, shorts, maybe one nice shirt, t-shirts and a swim suit. That's all you'll need. If you're like most people you will want to buy a couple t-shirts and maybe a Hawaiian shirt so take that into account when packing. Less is more. You may want to throw in a sweatshirt or long-sleeved shirt for air-conditioned places if you chill easily.
2. Pack the shoes to fit the things you enjoy. If you plan to hike, pack hiking boots. Leave the leather shoes at home; they'll be too hot. Bring a pair of sturdy lightweight shoes for walking, sandals and flip-flops.
3. Bring the essentials for the sun. Pack a hat to keep the sun out of your eyes and don't forget the sunscreen.
4. List the activities you enjoy and the gear needed. What can you rent in Hawaii inexpensively and what do you need to bring? Bring what you need but only what you need. Items to consider: snorkeling gear, binoculars for whale watching, and camera.
5. Prepare for the downside of vacation. Pack Band Aids, antiseptic, and eye drops.
