Instructions On Hula Hooping

People of all ages can benefit from hula hoop exercise.

The hula-hoop goes in and out of style, but its health benefits are evergreen. Hula-hooping is an effective, low-impact cardio exercise which evokes pleasant memories of childhood. Using a weighted hula-hoop can improve core strength in addition to helping shed pounds. There are many ways to manipulate a hula hoop to break the monotony and get a full workout.

Instructions

1. Place the hula-hoop on the ground and step into it. Pick the hula hoop up until it is right above your hips. Stand with your toes pointed forward and your feet in alignment with your shoulders. Simultaneously release the hoop and gyrate your hips to keep the hoop moving around your waist.

2. Place the hula-hoop around your neck and gyrate your head and shoulders to keep the hoop in motion.

3. Place the hoop around one of your forearms and hold your arm straight out to the side. Make a circle with your arm to move the hoop around it. Practice this exercise with both arms.

4. Grasp one end of the hoop with both hands and jump through it as you would with a jump rope.
