Make Bottled Water Labels At Home

Design your own bottle labels for unique party favors.

Bottling your own water or using pre-bottled water as a party favor is a fun idea that will entertain your guests. Instead of ordering expensive labels, purchase the blank labels, design the label on your computer and print them. Lining up the labels straight on the bottle can be the most challenging part of this project. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Measure the size of label that will fit on your bottle. Typically, they are a rectangle that wraps almost always around the bottle. Labels come in all sizes and can even be waterproof if you want to pay a little extra.

2. Open your software program and use their label printing options to set up your page size and margins. Many label manufacturers will offer a numbered template that lines up with the software manufacturer's so that all you need to do is plug in the number of the template. If you are not sure, you can enter the number of labels per page and their measurements to bring up the proper template.

3. Come up with a catchy title for your water bottles. Your text should be in large letters, usually a darker color for easy reading. Position any designs you want to include around the text, such as adding a small picture to the label. In many software programs this is doing by going to the the "Insert" menu and selecting photos or clipart.

4. Print off a sample sheet of labels to see if everything is positioned correctly and that it looks nice when you position the label on the bottle. Make any adjustments to the printing and do another sample sheet of labels. If everything is perfect, print the rest of the labels.

5. Place the labels on the bottles, making sure to line them up evenly and centered between any seams on the bottle. Stack the bottles close together to keep the labels firm on the bottle and to give the adhesive time to stick better.
