Flyers can be a cost-effective way to easily promote your restaurant. Use flyers to introduce your restaurant to the public for the first time, promote specials or new items, or advertise a take-out or delivery menu. Remember that your flyer could be someone's first impression of your business. Design your flyer to be easy to read, easy to understand and focused, so that prospective patrons can make quick use of it.
Instructions
1. Work with your business partners and staff to brainstorm ideas to convey with your flyer. Draw out a basic design on a notepad before you begin to make a final product. Decide the goal of your flyer, and make that goal a key focus. If you are featuring a coupon or special, make that item the centerpiece of your flyer, so that patrons can see it by quickly scanning over the flyer. Make the name of your business, address and phone number stand out, as well. Add a map to the flyer, so patrons can easily find you.
2. Use a computer software program such as Photoshop, Apple Pages or Microsoft Publisher to create your flyer based on the ideas that you came up with in Step 1. Take advantage of software features that will allow you to import images and manipulate different elements, such as text boxes, image boxes and line-drawing tools used to create maps. Seek professional help from a graphic designer if you need to, via Craigslist, the phone book or by inquiring at a local art school or college. Present your basic concept to a graphic artist and he will bring it to life.
3. Print your final design yourself or take it to a business such as Office Max or Staples and use a copy machine to make multiple copies. If you are printing very high quantities, consider getting quotes from local and online-based print shops that specialize in bulk-printing. Print your flyer on colorful paper such as Astrobrite that will quickly grab the attention of your audience.
