Making a name tag for guests at a holiday gathering is a simple way to make them feel at ease. People sometimes hesitate to strike up conversations with someone they met only briefly, especially if they cannot remember their name. Wearing a name tag will help your guests to mingle and socialize, thus having a better time. Holiday name tags can be formal, whimsical or simply a symbol of the particular holiday. These name tags are inexpensive and a quick craft to put together.
Instructions
1. Decide on the name tag symbol, and make a list of how many you will need.
2. Draw a template of the design you want onto a sturdy piece of cardboard, or you can use a purchased stencil to trace the design and cut it out, according to the All Free Crafts website. You may decide to use a simple flower or yellow duck design for Easter, a turkey or cornucopia for Thanksgiving and a Christmas tree or a simple gift box name tag for the Christmas holidays.
3. Cut the designs from the craft foam. If you are making a gift box for the Christmas holidays, you can make a red rectangular gift box and a white bow out of white craft foam. Alternately, you can paint a white ribbon onto the gift name tag by using acrylic paint and a small paintbrush. Only your imagination and artistic abilities limit the design.
4. Paint any designs on the craft foam holiday name tags that you desire, and allow them to dry thoroughly.
5. Place each individual's name onto the gift tag. You can do this by using a permanent marker or by placing a white sticky label on the name tag and writing it on there. You may wish to do this as each guest arrives in case you have no-shows.
6. Glue a small safety pin onto the back of your holiday name tag by using a hot glue gun. Hold the safety pin in place until the glue dries, which should only take a few seconds.
