Include Hawaiian-themed photographs in your invitation.
Many modern brides choose a theme for their wedding day, fitting all aspects of the wedding to that theme. Others might be planning a destination wedding and wish to make wedding invitations that tie in with the location of the wedding. Whether you plan on making the trip to Hawaii for your wedding, or just plan to incorporate Hawaiian themes and traditions into your big day, making your own Hawaiian-style wedding invitations is an easy way to add a dash of the exotic.
Instructions
1. Open a new document in a word processing or desktop publishing computer program.
2. Search the Internet for Hawaiian-style wedding photos. Or you can search for clip-art pictures of palm trees, grass skirts or leis.
3. Compose the wording that will appear on your Hawaiian-style wedding invitation. Use well-known Hawaiian expressions such as "aloha" or lesser known words such as "male 'ana," which means "wedding" in the Hawaiian language.
4. Include any information about a dress code for the wedding. Be as specific as possible so guests will know what type of outfits to search for.
5. Include information about the wedding location. If you are planning a Hawaiian destination wedding, make a separate document detailing hotel information, airline contact information and any other information that makes planning a trip easier.
6. Paste your Hawaiian-themed pictures into your computer document. Add the wording and play around with the layout until you are satisfied.
7. Ask some close friends or family members to help proofread your Hawaiian-style wedding invitations. Ask them to point out any spelling or grammatical errors, and ask them for their opinions on how you could improve your invitations. Make any necessary changes and save the document.
8. Print your invitations using your home printer, or enlist the help of a printing company for a more professional look.
